You know what is important when wrapping gifts?
Tape.
And Scissors.
Somehow during my marathon wrapping sessions I typically misplace one or both about 30 times or so. Of course they are always in the same place – underneath the large sheet of wrapping paper that I just unrolled from the roll. You know you’ve been there too and “lost” the tape while wrapping. Don’t act like you haven’t.
This month Office Depot was kind enough to send me a lovely package of goodies to assist with my holiday wrapping. I was really happy to see the ribbon and thank you notes as well as all the pens that I will hide from the children! And the awesome headphones. And new scissors and tape! WHEE! More to misplace. Or just more so I can have extra when I DO misplace the others (darn little elves running around here).
So, because I still have so much wrapping to do, and I would like to spend only one evening hovering over my dining room table, I decided to challenge myself and see if I could quickly wrap a present. Like REALLY fast. I came across a video in which a woman wraps a present in a very short amount of time and I decided I could absolutely do it too… Only…
…obviously it didn’t work out quite as well as I had hoped. And my videographer is an amateur, but really cute so… 🙂
Here’s the real thing…
I’m going to cut myself some slack since this was my first time. And CLEARLY she’s been at this a while.
I think with a few more times to practice I will be a fast-present-wrapping machine? Don’t you? 😉
I do wrap most of the Christmas gifts at our dining table. It’s good space and it’s nice and flat (not always clean, but flat). So, all of my supplies sit on or near a corner in my dining room until I am ready for “Wrapapalooza”, or as I need them for one odd gift for friends here or there. I LOVE roll wrap more than bags and so I tend to over buy it, usually once it’s on clearance after the holidays. I have kind of gotten away from ribbons and bows and other wrapping accoutrements, partly because we usually travel with our gifts and I hate for things to get smushed. However, I am trying out the washi tape this year since it is nice and flat! 🙂
Where do you set up #YourHolidayWorkshop? Are you a wrapping paper hoarder like me? Maybe pretty ribbons are your thing. Are you fast like my video? (If so, I hope you are better at it. LOL.)Whatever it is, I’m sure you’ll have fun wrapping presents this holiday season.
Don’t forget to visit Office Depot for all your holiday wrapping needs, especially awesome scissors and tape!
*Office Depot sent me a box of goodies in exchange for my honest opinions.

I valiant effort, my friend! I’m a slow wrapper but I get there in the end. 🙂
Also, I “lose” the tape and scissors under the clutter on the table all the time.

Oh. My. Word. You and the boy are just too cute. I love you both. (you look fantastic, by the way. I love your top)
Anyway… you did WAY better than I would have in 7 seconds. I mean please. I couldn’t even pick a bow in 7 seconds. Crazy.
Honestly, I never wrap any of the presents until the night before Christmas Eve. It is madness. Every year I plan to do it early and every year I am too busy with all the other lovely Christmas madness to get started. So every year I am sitting on the phone in the basement wrapping presents while Todd keeps an eye out for the “sleeping” children upstairs. I’m always paranoid I’ll be caught. 😉
I REALLY am going to try and wrap them on Monday while the kids are at school this time. We’ll see if that actually happens. 😉

Okay, so obviously that lady has figured out how to wrap boxes that are exactly the same size in just a few seconds. Give her something oddly shaped like a regular kid’s toy and her head might explode. Your attempt was adorable, though…and pretty darn good! I usually wrap gifts on the floor in front of our big TV with a funny movie on. It makes the time go by a little faster. Love the idea of using washi tape, though.
