Waiting for Santa and Dumb Mom’s Bright Smiles Holiday Photo Contest

December 15, 2010 by Elaine

We didn’t have to wait THAT long to see Santa Claus on Sunday. We got in line at 11:15 and Santa showed up around noon. While we waited for him to take his place at his “workshop” Tim took the kids to ride the carousel, they shared some cinnamon and sugar pretzel sticks from the Auntie Anne’s conveniently located just steps from the line (well played over-priced pretzel place, well played…), and I took the boys into Williams Sonoma for samples of peppermint bark and toffee. Oh and I changed K into her fancy dress.

In other words, we had time. We were not the first ones in line but probably only about 15th. And I’m SO glad we got there when we did. The line was FOREVER by the time Mr. Claus showed up.

Thankfully the kids behaved pretty well and were willing to wait.

I’m pretty sure the boys’ smiles below were due to the fact that their tummies were full of tasty pretzel sugar.

And yes, The B Man was sporting his very own “Santa” hat – he wears it to bed every night and calls it his “night cap” (yes, I AM raising an 80 year old man, thankyouverymuch…).

I am participating in the Invisalign Teen Bright Smiles Holiday Photo Contest with the super awesome Dumb Mom.

Holy cow! And that’s what makes me glad I live in the middle of nowhere (we were the ONLY people that went to see Santa on a Friday night! )
Adorable picture! LOVE the santa hat too

Can you believe that we’ve never gotten around to taking our kids to Santa?

Your kids make me think we should get on that. 🙂

    Nightcap? Love it! Beautiful.

We’re lucky, Santa makes a visit to the preschool for the youngest, and oldest, well, I’m thinking I might have lost him to the dark side this year.

    Sob.

I love those pretzels. I think having one would make me smile a big, cheesy smile too.

Cuteness! And I snorted about the “nightcap”. He’s an 80 yo man in a 6 yo’s body!

    🙂

I had a chuckle about the night cap – very sweet.

Your boys’ are adorable. What a life saver to have some yummy treats close by to the Santa queue. Nothing like a little hit of sugar before seeing the jolly man in red!
