STRESS is About to Become My Middle Name

June 9, 2009 by Elaine

Tim flew out for his third to last trip for the “old” job on Sunday. The boys and I are still in Austin and yesterday my mother did my laundry and cooked for me (it’s almost like high school all over again, except I don’t remember changing any diapers then…).

Yesterday we got an email from the moving company about all the stuff we need to do to get ready to load the truck on the 30th of June. THE 30TH OF JUNE!!!!! Freak my freak people. That’s like NO time!

I haven’t read the email yet. I would rather sit here in my “not back at home yet” bliss and ignore it. Forever. But obviously I cannot do that.

So… the next few weeks are going to be a whirlwind of packing, disassembling (don’t worry, I won’t be doing any of that!), seeing friends and family before our departure and taking Ben to his morning events (VBS and nature school camp).

And if I get through ALL of this craziness without any tears it will be a “moving” miracle. But who am I kidding, that’s NEVER gonna happen. You shoulda seen me on the first day of vacation… I was a wreck after forgetting to bring some things. But that’s a whole ‘nother blog post…

Anyway, just wanted to vent a minute about my crazy life and please know that if I haven’t stopped by to leave a comment it’s just ’cause I’m really busy with my “non-line” life! Oh and that I miss reading too! Virtual hugs and kisses to you all…

Oh man. That is a lot of stress!! And I can relate. We are basically building a new house, moving and having a baby all at the same time. It is CRAZY! What the hell were we thinking?????

You know what? Six months from now we will both be looking back on this and laughing. Right? RIGHT?????

Take your time….get your sweet little life packed up and moved….we’ll still be here when you get back…no worries.

And don’t forget to put your feet up and nap when you can…you deserve a little more rest before that little lady gets here. 🙂

Take a deep breath, pray for strength and patience and don’t be too proud to ask for help. You will get through this!! Wish I was closer so I could help.

I feel for you. If I am ever acting TOO chipper & giddy, my husband knows that he can instantly bring me down a few notches by the mere mentioning of moving. (I am NOT a fan of packing & unpacking).

However, this too shall pass. 🙂

Yes, it will be a crazy month for you, I won’t even pretend otherwise!! But, you’ll make it through, I knew you will. Let me know if you want to play hooky from responsibilities one day and get together!

I’ve been told that moving is the third most stressful life event after a death in the family and divorce. I used to joke that our last two moves almost lead to one or the other…

Hang in there. You’ll get it done even if it means randomly tossing things into the boxes as the movers are hauling them off. Worked for us! 🙂

I hear ya. We’re moving on Friday. It’s been crazy getting everything ready to go. I can’t imagine doing it while pregnant. Hugs and good luck with it all.

eek! You are one brave woman to be going through all of this AND be pregnant!! I did it when I was pregnant with Caden – but close to the end – I’m glad you will have some time to settle down there before your little one arrives!

You can do this! HB and I bought a house and moved at the end of April and it stunk moving which preggers but you get through it. Just be careful and don’t overdo it and don’t lift anything! Best of everything 🙂 You will do great 🙂
