SIX years ago today I became a mother and my life was forever changed.

Today my “Benja” is smart, sensitive, funny and quite the artist.

He loves his brother and baby sister so very much and likes to “fuzz” Baby K’s hair and even Little G’s still sometimes too! He can be a tad bossy (even to the baby, it’s so cute!) but that’s just part of who he is!

Last week he finished his first little soccer season and he’s on his way to reading, if only he wasn’t so stubborn (gee, I have NO idea who he got that personality trait from…).

He loves dessert (I DO know who he got that from) and always wants to assist when I’m baking something. He also enjoys the weekends and especially his Daddy’s Saturday morning breakfasts.

He’s an animal lover and even told me that when they talked about careers at school he told the counselor he want’s to be a “vet.”

These days he has no trouble dressing himself for school and church and he even showers by himself sometimes.

I love his fabulous blue eyes and his contagious smile. The hugs he gives are amazing and the fact that he still lets me give him a big kiss at bedtime is the best.

He’s a full fledged kid now and even though some days I wish I could go back to when he was little, it’s also so wonderful to watch him grow and learn and thrive. Yes, it’s affirmation as his mother but it’s also amazing to think that he was once just my wee tiny babe, the first in my womb. I mean WOW. What a miracle.

Happy Birthday my “Benja Wenja,” my first baby who is a baby no longer. I thank God for you everyday.

I love you so much my heart could burst.
