Rock Your Recipes! A Giveaway!

November 18, 2011 by Elaine

I rip a lot of recipes out of magazines and I print many off of the internet as well.  I haven’t used an actual cookbook in AGES.

ENTER: The Recipe Rock.

Cute, huh?  That little ball is a magnet.

When I got mine I decided to give it THE most challenging type of recipe to hold – the flimsy magazine page.  And it did the job!

It also holds small note cards…

And of course a printed half page or full page recipe. Or your kids’ spelling list or your favorite photo of your kids.  The possibilities are truly endless… 🙂

Plus, it’s only about 2 inches tall so it takes up hardly ANY room in your kitchen. This baby is going to help me SAIL through my holiday cooking, I tell ya!

Just another great item in which I ask myself  “why didn’t I think of that?”

So, you wanna win one?  Surely you also have printed or torn out recipes hanging around that you need to put on The Recipe Rock.  I know it’s true.

Just leave a comment telling me one of your favorite holiday foods and I’ll pick a random winner from those.

p.s. you’re welcome for the recipes, that salmon is to die for! 😉

Giveaway closes Tuesday, November 22 at midnight. U.S entries only please.

*I was provided one recipe rock to sample and they’ve offered to send another one to one lucky reader.  All opinions are my own.

Love this idea – not just for recipes, but also for the spelling lists. Once a week I spend my time cooking dinner and giving a practice spelling test to my son!

I love my roasted pecans! YUM!

My favorite holiday food is Starlight Mint Surprises – a recipe my mother found in a Pillsbury bake-off book about (literally) 50 years ago!

Hmmn. My fave holiday recipe is probably not a real recipe, as it’s my dad’s latkes. But I’d love this thing so I could bake cookies for a swap without having to stick to the paper the recipe is on. 😉

Texas Sheet Cake and the Nestle Tollhouse Pie- it’s a toss-up!

This looks pretty cool. Lately most of my recipes come from the iPad but I do have a few paper ones laying around, like white chocolate lemon pound cake. yum.

    SHUT UP, that is adorable.

My favorite holiday recipe is my grandmother’s walnut fudge. It’s really the only time of the year i feel justified making and eating the whole pan. 🙂

A holiday meal is not a meal unless it has homemade dinner rolls. They are so easy and just plain yummy and blow the store bought ones or, heaven-forbid, out of a can rolls. They just won’t do.

It’s tough to choose, but it is a toss-up between good cranberry orange sauce, chocolate bourbon pecan pie, or any kind of roasted sweet potato concoction.

    and i LOOOOVE this!

Okay- yes- I have a 3 inch binder full of recipe tear outs & working on filling another. I could totally use this.

My favorite holiday food- fudge- I love my mom’s fudge & fortunately I have managed to perfect it. I have the recipe on a little 3×5 card that I keep hidden away so it never gets lost.

What a cool idea. That would be good at my office too for holding up things I need to type off of.

My favorite is Spinach Madeleine from the River Roads Recipe Book – Baton Rouge Junior League. It’s sinful and cheesy and delicious which is why I only make it twice a year!

It may sound boring but I would have to say roast turkey and mashed potatoes. We only really eat them for the holidays and they are so yummy!

    That is awesome.

I don’t really make the traditional dishes for holidays, family handles that. I’m always the one with snacks. But my favorite thing to eat at Thanksgiving is the stuffing/dressing.

LOVE this! You can’t set the bowl on top of the recipe card (like I always do) if it’s standing up!!

My favorite is stuffing. I find reasons to eat it all day long until it is gone.

Too cute! I have several cookbooks I use, but like you, I tear stuff out of magazines, off boxes, etc. This would be so handy! Fave holiday food, that’s a tough one… A friend makes amazing pumpkin bars! I love the traditional stuff: turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, rolls, pumpkin pie. I don’t really use any fancy recipes for those.

I make these sweet potato bacon biscuits from an Emeril Lagasse recipe every year. I don’t think I’m allowed to show up without them. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/emeril-lagasse/sweet-potato-bacon-biscuits-recipe/index.html
