Past Post Parade!

Perhaps you’ve seen me mention on here lately that I come across new blogs on a daily basis. When I find a new blog that I connect with I usually read ONLY the most current post or a couple of more before that one, comment and move on. But sometimes as I am reading I ask myself, “Self, wouldn’t it be nice if you had all the time in the world to go back and check out their archives and read some of their older posts?” And I REALLY wish I did.

Plus, there are plenty of blogs that I have only been reading for a few months and I’m pretty positive I’ve missed some good stuff.

So, I’ve decided to do something about this. Won’t you PLEASE join me in linking up to some of your “old” posts? I want to see what else you got back there in the archives!

Link up to any post from that SAME month, but either 1 year ago, 2 years ago, etc. Example. This is January 2009, so link to a post from January of 2008 or even 2005, if you’ve been blogging that long! Make sense?

If you have not been blogging for at least a year, just go back to the first month you started blogging and pick a post from any day of that month.

I would like to make this a once a month thing if enough of you are interested and think it’s a good idea. I mean this is easy y’all – the post is already done! : )

  6. I had fun going back and seeing how horrible my posts were. They aren’t much better. And I had to take from last October because I started the very last of September. And that post was just to say that I was starting a blog. Fun! Gotta go work, then be back to read!

  7. I went back to my old abandoned blog, because I fell kind of bad for it.

    BTW-While I was there, I noticed a comment from Lainey! We’ve known each other longer than I thought.

Drat, I wish I could go back to our blog that I started three years ago, but that one has to stay private for a while until we get over a settlement with the hospital after they nearly killed our son….his whole story is on there, and I don’t want attorneys sniffing around and telling me that I have to delete it all together since it IS our son’s life history…

    Anyhow I am linking to like the 3rd oldest post from our family blog which I started this month. I know not very exciting. :S

    I love this idea though. It rocks!

  20. What a great idea! I posted my first tag from my first month of blogging – it tells a little about me, but I hope to get some new visitors who will learn all KINDS of things about me from my blog!

  25. I bent your rules slightly…I just used a good post from a few months ago. I didn’t really want to link to my old blog, because I want people to find the one I blog at now.

    But you did give me an idea. I’m going to comb through my archives for the best of my old blog and feature those entries once ina while at my new place. =)

  28. Really great idea, Elaine! Looks like you got a good turn out, too. Sorry I didn’t stop by yesterday I was distracted by a little boy who was home sick from school and forgot.

    I only had a few posts in Jan last year. I started blogging on the 28th of that month… but I like the little rant I linked up to and it has zero comments right now. Such a lonely little blog post.
