O Christmas Tree

I always LOVED helping decorate the tree when I was growing up. My parents have this awesome star tree topper that lights up and has an angel in the middle. I adore it because it’s a star AND an angel. I’m hoping my mother will “gift” it to me someday.

For now, we have a star only, although we’ve had an angel in the past too…

This is our tree in the morning sun, coming through the windows from the front doors of the house.

Below the tree is a large piece of folded felt, in order to protect any precious ornaments (such as the vintage one pictured below) that may fall since our entire living room is tile flooring…

…and since cute little ones like to “play” around and with the ornaments (don’t worry, the bottom of the tree is decorated sparsely and with child-friendly ornaments only).

The tree has three different gold and crystal-like garlands.

And a little photo gallery of my babies.

This ornament is from a shop in Seaside, FL, one of our favorite places to vacation.

And this one reminds me of this hard candy that my Grandmother ALWAYS had on hand, every Christmas.

I just think this bird is beautiful.

I’ve always been a big fan of the artist Mary Englebreit and this is her version of Santa.

I’m not “big” on snowmen since I’ve never lived anywhere where it snows but for some reason I couldn’t resist this little guy with his sequins inside.

And I love bulbs too. This is one of my favorites.

And here is a shot of the tree at night. As you can see the pre-lit tree has somewhat failed us. Please just focus your eyes on the top half of the tree and ignore the alternating dark spots. I have chosen to do so myself this year… 😉

Hope you enjoyed seeing our tree. I do love the symbol of the Christmas tree and think it’s such a beautiful part of the home at the holidays. And I just LOVE ornaments!!
