New Challenges & Miss Elaine-ous Monday

November 14, 2011 by Elaine

I completed my 3rd 10K this weekend.

I ran the entire time and it was THE first time I ever ran over 4 miles straight!!  I had a friend running with me and I think that really helped keep me going and it made the time go by SO much faster! (Thanks Lindsey!)

My official time was 1:01:40 and I’m pretty darn happy with that.  My quads were screaming all day Sunday though but that’s okay, that means I used them well.

Now on to this half marathon thing…which is less than 3 weeks away! EEK!

In other news, I also got a new camera last week and lovingly refer to it as my fourth child.

It’s a Nikon D90 so some of you surely understand why. 🙂

SUPER SQUEE!!!

It takes some pretty awesome pictures.  And the 50mm lens I bought back in the spring actually works on it (it did not auto focus on my previous camera. bad news with kids).

Plus, I’ve offered to take pictures of some of my friends and their families so that I can get more experience photographing other people in general, and especially other kiddos.  Not that mine aren’t cute. 😉

I promised them candy after this little photo shoot so it went pretty well. he he.

It’s a bit daunting to taking pics of other people but I have done it once before and Sunday I had my first photo shoot with a family (the mom is my friend) and it went pretty well.  More on that later this week…

Happy Miss-Elaine-ous Monday everyone! 🙂

Remember, ANY “miss elaine-ous” post will do, something from your archives or something brand new! 🙂

Do you have a post that meant a lot to you but wasn’t read by as many folks as you’d hoped? Or one that has great pictures and you want more people to see them? Or do you just have one that you really want to share!?

I’ll also choose a random post from those who link up to feature on The Miss Elaine-ous Life Facebook page (please “Like” if you have not already) so even more folks will see a new post every week! Grab the button and link up!  And please visit some of the other linkers as well…

Miss Elaine-ous Monday

If you do not post the button, please still link back to my blog, even if you just put a little blurb at the end of you post such as “It’s Monday and I’m being “Miss Elaine-ous” over at The Miss Elaine-ous Life!” – Thanks!! Oh and extra bonus points to anyone who puts a tweet out there, that would be awesome too!

And yay for the camera! Maybe now you can show teach me how to use mine. I’ve had it for two years and I still don’t know what I’m doing. Good grief. 😉

    You are awesome!
I am a moron. I guess I was under the assumption that you run nonstop the entire time in all races, etc. And I am learning that’s not the case. Obviously thats my goal in the 5k (since, it is ONLY a 5k)…but yea. 3.1 on Saturday, I’m nervous! I need to feel better soon.

    you are an inspiration!

By the way, you are looking GOOD, girl!

Yay for the new camera, too. I love the photos … but I always love your photos 🙂
