I woke up Monday feeling quite a bit better and gave my husband the okay to go to work. And the rest of the day went like this…
I sat around my laptop in the morning hitting “refresh” a lot so I could link up to MckMama’s carnival but it didn’t get posted until after we left for the library.
The kids and I met up with our playgroup for storytime and then we all went to Chick Fil A for lunch. This particular Chick Fil A is SO cool. They have little cups of cherrios for the wee ones to snack on and place mats for the kids for the table. And the sweetest elderly lady that goes around and gets you a high chair, drink refills and aks if you need anything else. I feel like I should tip her. She’s so lovely and doesn’t even make faces at us (at least not that I’ve seen) when she sees the HUGE mess we’ve left on the floor after we just fed like 15 kids and ourselves. There should be MORE people like her in this world.
After lunch we came home and played (I was on the computer some) and I let Little G stay up a little too long before his nap and he was wired. He had to cry a bit before he decided to give in. He’s been this way at night lately too. I think he’s starting to get to the age where he thinks he may be missing something…
I perused my new March issue of VOGUE, surprised that it’s only about half as thick as it usually is this time of the year. Hmmm… the economy must be affecting everything, even fashion mags.
I swept the kitchen floor and vacuumed the den.
I rejoiced when my husband came home a little early and decided to make everyone “breakfast dinner.” I gobbled up my egg and cheese sandwhich, which was very similar to what I ate last night, minus the egg. There isn’t much that agrees with me these days. I could eat a sandwhich at every meal.
About 8:30 everything changed. I became OBSESSED with having a chocolate cupcake. I almost baked some. The husband went out on a cupcake hunt (he’s just that awesome) to no avail. He called from the grocery store and he brought me a piece of chocolate mousse deliciousness which seemed to fit the bill. I say “everything changed” because I haven’t wanted sweets in weeks and have even lost 4 pounds due to my food aversions. Those days may be over, but probably not yet. I think today I was just craving it for a moment. And now it’s over. Oh well, it was wonderful while it lasted.
And as Scarlet says in Gone With the Wind, “Tomorrow is another day…”
