Style is something I have always wanted to exude in my clothing. Although I would not call myself a trendsetter, I am definitely a trend follower. I have always loved clothes – buying them, wearing them, caressing them while hanging in my closet. And quite often I am looking for ways to frugally “get the look” that is popular at any given time.
One way I like to see what is most current for fashion is by checking out what celebrities are wearing in the magazines and photos online. They are, of course, the major trend setters. My inspiration while shopping at Sears the other day came from one Cameron Diaz.
Thankfully I was able to find some great jeans, a flowy tank and a sweater to go over it. I also found some “booties” that I thought went great with the outfit and they were on sale!
I know, I look just like her, the resemblance is uncanny. LOL.
Honestly, I never would have thought to purchase a tank that came out that much from under the sweater if I had not seen the above photo of Ms. Diaz. I would have probably found something the same length and gone from there. The sweater is not something I would normally grab off of the rack either but I love it, comfy and soft! I really like the wash on these jeans since they seem to make my legs look a bit thinner. Which is never a bad thing in my book. They are a tad long for me (being 5’3″ kinda stinks for that!) but they also tuck into tall boots just fine.
I also added this jean jacket to kick things up a notch and keep me warm in cool restaurants and movie theaters, since I am totally wearing this outfit on date night! (and now you know what we do on date nights. Sometimes we also go to Barnes & Noble. Or Target. Livin’ large, y’all!)
I really love what I found at Sears while shopping for a celebrity look for less. The kids even saw me in this outfit and said, “Mom, where are you going dressed so nice like that?” See? Totally date night appropriate (but also good for carpool b/c sometimes your yoga pants are dirty).
Do you find fashion inspiration from celebrities? Check out Sears the next time you are inspired!
