“So, this a pretty good place to live. I get to roam around on the floor and play with all sorts of things. Except there is this funny, silly guy that is bigger than me that pulls some of the toys out of my hands (quite forcefully I might add), thinking they are HIS toys or something. He does make me laugh sometimes and has a lot to say. As a matter of fact everyone around here has a lot to say. When I get to talk, which I hope is coming up soon, I’m not sure how I will actually get a word in edgewise!
I really like the lady who has the milk, she’s pretty cool. She feeds me other stuff too. I think she finally got the message that I DON’T like to be fed with a spoon anymore. I am VERY independent and like to feed myself, pretty much all the time. I had to cry a lot so she could figure that one out. Geez! Oh, and I like to pull up on things and even take steps with her holding my two hands. Once I get strong enough and have better balance, these people better watch out because I am going to leave them in the dust.
There’s another guy that is quite nice too. He’s pretty tall and has a scratchy face. He likes to snuggle me before I go to bed at night and that is sweet. He and the silly guy seem to like each other a lot. They play and laugh together a lot and sometimes that cracks me up too. I think they are fun to watch, but sometimes I just need the milk lady, you know?
One of my favorite things to do here is to get inside this big white thing that has clear liquid in it and splash around and chew on the toys in there. The silly guy and I do that together and it’s fun. He seems to really enjoy it too.
Anyway, I do like it here, but if I could change a few things I would allow me to play with the thing with the letters on it that has a screen that the milk lady uses a lot. I would let myself play with anything actually. Also, I would figure out some way to get them to quit using that thing on my nose that gets the snot out. I really DO NOT LIKE it!! And, I would make sure there was food in front of me a lot more because, well, I like food.
That’s about it for now. I am growing every day and before we know it I will be walking and talking, so watch out world, ‘cause here I come!”

He is CUTE!! And I can see a tiny glimpse of that great hair halo…love it! I think my kids would have agreed about the snot sucker…they hated that thing, but I loved it and used it regularly. You gotta do what you gotta do.
Cute post!

Very cute post. My daughter is almost 8 months. What type of finger food does your son eat? We have only tried cheerios so far. But she loves them. Doesn’t eat as many as the dust buster though.

What a great age! Makes me wish I had one that small again (well…. maybe not =0).
I would like to introduce myself. I am a new WAHM and am excited to begin networking with moms and grandmothers who are juggling the many roles they have in life just as I am. I had a 15 year career as an accountant for a publicly traded company and I missed out on so many of the precious moments in the lives of my boys. In August of ’07 I finally took the step of faith and left my full-time employment so that I could have the time, energy, and flexibility to focus on the needs of my tween (age 12) and 1st grader (age 6).
I have built a website which focuses on the essentials of family living, hence the name ~ http://www.essentialfamilyliving.com. One of my favorite topics of discussion is Family Fun Night and I have dedicated much of my blog space to this subject.
I would love for you to view my site and blog then comment with any suggestions, advice, or encouragement. Thank you for the consideration.
Blessing on your day!

to Sue – on the finger foods, he’s eating diced cooked carrots and green beans, pears, peaches, those Gerber puff things, diced chicken, breads, pasta, blueberries, strawberries, cherry tomatoes. I think that’s about it!

Isn’t it funny to look back and see how BIG you thought he was then, even tho now he looks SO LITTLE there! Hehe. I think little G’s declaration that he likes food still holds true now, righ!? ;o)

That was very cute and funny! I like it when babies have lots to say at 8 months old! Aren’t they so advanced these days?

Adorable. And it is fun to think about what they might say if they were capable.
