This is the current, up to the minute state of Little G’s hair (that’s my new blog nick name for him). Is it cute OR WHAT?!?!?
I am taking tons of pictures of it lately because it totally cracks me up and pretty much anyone who sees him these days. When we were at the mall the week between Christmas and New Years he was the hit of the place as I strolled him around and basically anywhere we go I get comments. I have never gotten this kind of attention in my life (or any “kind” for that matter!).
I took this picture in front of a window, without the flash so that the “halo” effect could present itself in the most delightful way.
Now there can be a downside to the “hair attention” as I will tell you in this quick story. Yesterday a woman at church, who I have spoken to before but do not know her name or anything about her, besides that she goes to our church, “saliva-ed” my son’s hair.
Yes folks, she did.
She licked her finger and before I could do anything, patted his hair down with her now wet forefinger. I don’t know what she was saying after that because I was too busy saying to myself,
“Did she really just do that? Really? Seriously, did no-name lady just put her finger in her mouth and then on my son’s head??”
And get this.
Before I could lift my jaw off the ground she was doin’ it AGAIN! I guess she was not satisfied with the results of her first attempt so she proceeded to lick and repeat!
The audacity.
Oh well, he’s no worse for the wear, but GEEZ I cannot believe what people will do sometimes. Do we really need to be reminded not to lick our fingers and put them in someone else’s child’s hair? Well, if so, here is YOUR reminder, keep your licked digits to yourself! ; ) HA!
Anyway, enjoy the fuzz picture and if you get the chance to touch it you are lucky. Please let’s just make sure it’s with a nice, dry hand.

Awwww…he’s a cutie! My daughter had that exact same head of hair. I’ll post a pic sometime. I absolutely loved it! She was about 1 before it started laying down. People would comment how I should use some Vaseline to make it lay down, but nobody ever actually put their spit on her head! That is truly disgusting for someone to do…and to do it twice even…ewwww!!! I think it’s adorable!!

LOVE IT!! Look at that fuzzy hair!

I am going to start carrying a flyswatter with me!!! At my father in law’s 70th birthday party everyone was “petting” James’ curlz on his head until his hair was straight! I couldn’t wait to give the kid a good bath! I’m with you…keep the licked digits to yourself! yuck!
Christy says
Cute! My third had a mohawk for a while because her hair was fuzzy like that, but it had fallen out on the sides! Now she has ringlet curls that strangers think it’s ok to pet.
Megan (FriedOkra) says
That is GROSS. I don’t even do the spit-finger thing to Bean and she’s my own KID. Blech!

OMG! I am laughing…Holy crap, what has this world come to that strangers are spitting on babies?
Mrs. Brownstone @ XBOX Wife says
Ok, first – that is SUCH a cute picture! Before scrolling down, all I could see was the very top of his head. I thought it was going to be someone in a Halloween costume with a feathery ballerina hairpiece!
Second…I will NEVER forget the day that a young girl stuck her BLUE FINGERNAIL into my child’s sweet baby mouth! It happened so quickly before I could stop her – I was MORTIFIED, and she could definitely tell!

I think you should have returned the favor with that smudge on her nose…

That is adorable! (the photo, not the saliva-ing). I wish people would keep their DNA to themselves.

ACK! Gross!
My first son had hair *just* like that (except brown). At almost four, it still won’t lay down…its just thicker so it no longer looks like fuzz. And yep, just like you – it was a MAJOR conversation piece!
Connie says
Oh Me, Oh My!
What the heck was she thinking! You should have done it back to her! HA!
Reluctant Housewife says
Ew!
That’s gross.
He’s so cute. I love his halo-hair.
Cute post!
Eudae-mamia says
Well, thank the Lord he didn’t have any breakfast left on his sweet little face. Keep your spit to yourself, indeed!!
I myself enjoyed the “halo” effect when I was about that age. So much so, that to this day – I’m 37 – my father still lovingly calls me “fuzzy Tori.” Sadly for my parents, my hair eventually laid down on its own, sans the spit shine.
Old lady spit – double ick.

Oh I love love love his hair! I am still in shock over the fact that a pretty much random stranger licked her fingers and put them in your childs hair. Oh I am shuddering over here. :[
dddiva says
Good for you for holding your temper I would have either smacked her or gotten in her face cuz that is just so frigging gross.
I love love love the fuzzy duck hair, too cute.
Eternal Sunshine says
Oh my – that IS nasty! I probably would have said something, but then I’ve gotten grumpy in my old age – ha ha
I did once have a boyfriend who freaked.out.bigtime when I unthinkingly licked my thumb and came after him to wipe some schmutz off his cheek.
Now that I think of it, that could have been the moment the relationship began to go downhill…
suzannah says
that is outrageous. people are out of control.
adorable picture:)
Good N Crazy says
But I soooooo wanna lick that fuzz!
jill jill bo bill says
At least she didn’t lick and wipe his mouth. But that is WRONG!!
Angie @ KEEP BELIEVING says
OMG! My son’s hair used to DO THE EXACT SAME THING. Stuck straight up until he was about 1-1/2 and it had more volume. Then it was just poofy at the roots, but would fall to the side gracefully. Had to make sure I never got it cut too short or it would stick up.
Never had anyone saliva it, though.

My know 15 year old son had that hair. We called him “Woodstock” because his hair looked the way the bird in the Peanuts does.
Too cute.

Yuck, Yuck, Double yuck! The hair is adorable the woman is obviously in need of help as she can’t stop herself!
