On my way to take photographs of my friend’s sweet baby girl on Saturday morning I happened to notice that a local antique shop was having a tent sale outside.
I desperately wanted to pull swerve over RIGHT then and take a gander at what they had to offer and see what I could find to buy. But obviously, I could not.
Instead I texted Tim on the way home and told him I had to make a “quick stop” (ahem) and that I would be home after. He was good with it.
As I walked up I immediately spotted THIS chair.
My heart started to race and began to beat even faster after I saw the completely acceptable price for a chair like this. I instinctively put my hand on it and believe I may have uttered the word “mine” as I did.
Anyway, the wonderful chair and several vintage fabrics and a blanket somehow made it into my van.
These things happen.
Turns out two of the vintage fabrics were old flour sacks and one would be REALLY easy to make a dress out of for K, no kidding. Right now though, she’s using it as a make shift pillow case (that would be even easier to make!)
I also framed the other flower sack and some of the other fabrics and hung them in her room. The frames were purchased earlier in the week at local thrift shop and the yellow one was formerly tacky gold. Thank goodness for inexpensive spray paint.
Plus, I could not resist this awesome quilt/blanket in which you know someone tied each one of those little pieces of yarn by hand. Two dollars people. $2!!!! You can’t beat that with a stick!!
BTW, the chair was $20 and I’ve seen chairs like this before for a lot more than that. PLUS! She had already recovered it with vintage fabric. That right there is worth at least half the price to me!
So what do you think, did I do good? I am so happy to add these things to K’s new big girl room.
And I think she likes the chair almost as much as me…
P.S. I got the smaller owl pillow from the Etsy shop, Emily Ann’s Kloset and I adore it. She does a great job so check it out if you get a chance!
p.p.s. I was asked to share where I got the other owl pillow and K’s bedding and that would be good ole Target!
Those are some great finds! It looks like she approves of the chair, too!
Fabulous finds! I’m impressed–and inspired to find some treasures for my littlest gal’s “big girl room”

Oh my gosh! It’s perfect! I love the chair. Beautiful! You did great!
Those are great finds!! That chair is wicker, right? Wicker is expensive, so $20 is a great score!
Great finds! I need to be better at looking for things like that because you definitely found some great stuff! I love the idea of framing the fabrics… I think I may need to do something like that!
it’s AWESOME! love it. her room looks fabulous.
That chair is adorable and so is K sitting in it.
You have an excellent eye and the chair goes perfectly in her room. I am impressed that the owl Target bedding and the antiques work – you rock!
Oh good job. I have that visceral action to lots of things. Unfortunately they are normally things I can’t afford.
I wouldn’t have been able to resist either!
The little owl is stunning – perfect with your chair.
Tried to talk my 14 yr old into the owl bedding, but was a resounding no
But she loves owls!
LOOOOVE!
Your daughter is adorable. And the bedroom finds are awesome too.
I love it. I just don’t have an eye for those kind of things. You know can’t see the treasures. I so admire those who can. It must be the artist in you!
What great finds! That chair is wonderful! It would be fun to drag it out to a field for pictures too!
Wow, great finds! I love the owl pillow, thanks for sharing the post and where you got the pillow! hehe
I would have loved to have her room as a little girl – so perfect. Those owl pillows are too cute and that blanket and chair were a huge find – you’re so right on that!! Great photos, too!!
I have had that kind of physical response…not for a chair, maybe, but with other finds.

I think we’d get along very well, my friend! Love.
It’s wonderful! Our house needs some serious love. I keep telling myself to hit up a thrift store, you know to get some charm in here, but I always wind up at Ikea. Stupid meatballs.
This is a very beautiful and interesting post, i love all the pictures, specially the last one
