Good, bad or indifferent, I don’t have a picture of my child/children with Santa Claus every year. For the first couple of years of The B Man’s life I guess it was just not that important to me/us. The first photo he has with Santa is pictured below. He was two and half.
And, I wasn’t even sure that was the plan the day we headed to the mall so he’s not even wearing “Christmasy” clothing…
But he’s still crazy cute. And Happy to be there so it’s ALL good!
The next year we didn’t even attempt the mall. I snapped their photo QUICKLY while Santa visited Ben’s pre-school at our church. (note: this would be Little G’s last encounter with the man in red until this year…)
When Ben was 4 he and Santa were like best friends! Look at the smile on his face!! He sat there for a while talking to him. I thought they might kick him out but about that time he was done and waved bye. G on the other hand? Having NOTHING to do with him. And I am not one to force them so he’s not in the pic.
Now, see the photo below? Yeah, I bet you are wondering where Santa is. Well, I can’t find the photo from last year and apparently we/I did not have the forethought to scan it! (BOO!) But, this is us on the way to see Santa and somewhere, lost in this house is a cute photo of 2 month-old Baby K and Ben (sporting the very same red sweater…) sitting on his lap at the local mall. I’ve posted this photo of her because from what I recall of the picture with Santa, she had the very same look on her face…
This year we managed to get all three pictured with the Man of the hour but not at the same time. And Baby K, well once we placed her in his lap she was all, “who the H.E. double hockey sticks is this GUY?!?!?” and started crying. The photographer snapped a quick one and we scooped her up.
Then G was all ready to go say “hey” to Santa but refused to sit in his lap. He’s sporting the classic “Gavin look” and wearing the same exact sweater (I’ve gotten a lot of mileage out of that sweater!!!) that B wore in 2008 & 2009 in this shot (yes, it’s a tad too big for him…he’ll probably wear it next year too – ha!)
Linking up at Harper’s Happenings!

So cute! I have memories of being to scared to sit on Santa’s lap so I never made my girls do it. I think there is one shot of them with Santa and my mom is with them in the shot (it was her idea).
I always asked if they wanted to though….they just always said no!:)

Oh my word. I love it! Poor Baby K!! And I love how G is standing near Santa, but not “ON” Santa. Hilarious!

I love them all! So cute!
We have a picture of each of the boys when they were 6mons old…ie before they could be terrified of the strange man. And none since. They still don’t want to go!

Isn’t it fun to stroll down Santa photo memory lane?

Santa photos are fun. I have a couple of Baby Girl screaming her lungs out. Finally I just gave up. The year she was three it took like 10 tries, but she finally worked up enough nerve to sit on his lap and have her photo made.

What a fun post 🙂
I can’t choose. But I especially love the awed expression on Ben’s face in the first one. Excited awe–so stinking cute!

We have learned, the hard way, to always go with the cheap Santa. My kids are notorious of freaking out, and I’m not paying $25.00 for the privilege.
