Snack Attack! Green Giant Veggie Chips

My boys, especially the nine-year old, are getting to the point where they can put away some food!

And when I pick them up from school in the afternoon’s they are SO hungry that they break out the drama and act like there is no way they will make it home before perishing since I did not bring a snack along in the van.

Puh-lease.

I affectionately refer to this as a “Snack Attack”.  It can be quiet scary. 😉

Because see, once we do arrive at home they run through the door like a pack of wildebeests to the house to find something to eat as fast as they possibly can.

Somehow my oldest recently got introduced to barbecue flavored chips.  I promise I had nothing to do with this.  I don’t even like barbecue chips that much.  Apparently his taste buds fell madly in love and he has not looked back since.  Aw, young love…

But you know?  That’s not really my favorite snack for him because it is not THAT healthy.

Enter Green Giant Veggie chips.  If you are going to have chips, these are the ones to have.

They are made with whole grains, veggies and have much less fat that other chips.

We tried two flavors –  the barbecue sweet potato and the garden ranch and both packed quite a tasty punch!  The 9-year old thought the barbecue ones were a tad spicy but that did not stop him from eating his entire serving.

I enjoyed some of the garden veggie tortilla chips with a little hummus on the side and it was a great afternoon snack.

What?  Mom has a “snack attack” sometimes too… 😉

So next time you are at the store, grab a bag – you won’t be disappointed!
