My parents were here over the weekend and do you know that I did not manage to get one picture of them? I know.
I was going to try and get a few photos of them with the kids on Saturday but it just never worked out…
We did not do much while they were here, just hung out and talked and shared meals and watched some of Lonesome Dove.
They also helped tame the jungle that is our front and back yards, so that was good. Seriously, sometimes I think we live in a rain forest. Stuff grows like nuts around here.
Saturday night before the kids went to bed my Dad gave each of the kids some money (you know, the same amount I used to get for a week just to LIVE off of, back in high school). Before I knew it they were off stuffing it in their piggy banks and re-counting all of their cash. B was helping K put the money in her little pink wallet and G was asking B to help him count his too.
I sat next to my Daddy on the couch as they hugged him and thanked him. And when the kids ran off again, with huge smiles on their faces, I asked for some too. But he had already put his wallet away…

I love this post. I love that you call your dad, Daddy. I do too. <3 Some of my best childhood memories were with my grandpa. I love that my kids have a strong relationship with my parents. It’s amazing to watch.
So a gift in my life? This week I have started to care for my health and put some energies toward that. A gift for sure.
Thank you for hosting the link up, mama!!!

I am thankful for that taste of fall weather! We went down to 54 degrees last night as we slept with the windows up and the blankets cuddled up tightly. It was the best sleep I have had in weeks!!

While the grandparents aren’t close, they still do the same awesome things. My girls are lucky to have them, and even one sent of great grandparents that like to buy them things (you know, things they never bought me when I was their granddaughter).

That is so awesome. I love that my boys have a good and close relationship with their paternal grandparents. There really is no relationship quite like it, is there?
