Family Time, It’s SO NOT Overrated

September 8, 2008 by Elaine

Do you ever find you and your spouse looking at each other on a Saturday morning and saying, “So, what are we going to do this weekend?” There are many weekends when we are booked up and end up with very little “free” time but this weekend was an exception. Thank goodness.

We had time together just the four of us with good home-cooked meals (and Tim’s mom joined us on Saturday night – Yay!), a trip to the flight museum and some football watching (yes, even I watched a little).
And now for some pictures…
Daddy & The B Man outside the Frontiers of Flight Museum

Daddy & Little G checking out a display (can you see The B Man in the pic too?)

The B Man inside a helicopter (that has some fancy letter/number name that I SO don’t remember…)

The ACTUAL Apollo 7 module. COOL!

Flight hostess outfits from the 1960’s designed by Emilio Pucci for Braniff Airlines (had to have a little fashion in there!) I am actually really loving that lime green coat. Wish I could find that somewhere these days!

Checkin’ out the secret compartment for the airline tray (which is exactly what he would be doing if we were ACTUALLY on a plane…)

This museum was a great place to take the boys (good idea Daddy) and even had a play area for the kids that was perfect. We had a great time!

Moving along… Tim gets more excited for football season to begin every year and I have to say that I am just glad it’s finally here so he can finally stop talking about it’s impending arrival (did I just say that??)

Anyway, a few weeks ago he bought the boys jerseys for his favorite team and as much as I don’t really care for The ‘Boys, I don’t have a favorite team and I do have to admit they look cute in them. Little G wasn’t really into posing but as you can see, he had a grand time running away with the remote! Hope you were able to enjoy some family time this weekend too!

P.S. I am featured on Tip Junkie for the idea of the GIANT cupcake that I made for Little G’s first birthday. Go check it out! I LOVE this site!

Love the Cowboy jerseys. I love it when men and their kids dress up for a game. That reminds me I need to get Jackson a jersey.

My friend made the same cake for her daughter on her 1st b-day. She went with a whole cupcake theme, now she’s afraid the baby will develop some sort of cupcake phobia. I think it’s a super cute idea.

Looks like you guys had a great day together. It’s tough finding fun things to do, that was a good call.

Those Pucci uniforms are sick! Seeing that would have made my day.

    You are SO right.
Sometimes I feel like I am overprotective of our family time.
But it’s so precious and so limited sometimes.
Sounds like you had a perfect day.
    LOVE the fashion photo!
And now, friend, I am off to check out that cupcake.
You know my love for anything cupcake.

Isn’t it great when you do something. Sometimes we have the hardest time getting motivated, but once we get out, we are so happy with the result.

I’m a little sad that y’all cheer for the *coughwrongcough* team, but I have Romo in Fantasy, so it’s all good. Go Romo!

Sounds like a good weekend. I keep hoping to find some family time, but it keeps slipping through my fingers, so to speak. Love the boys in the jerseys. Y’all should come tailgate with us some time. UNT’s football team may be a bit underwhelming, but we have a good time anyway.

I too think family weekends are the best! 🙂

Looks like your guys had a lot of fun waiting for football.

College football is big in our house too considering he spent 4 years playing. At least winter comes and football ends with the start of the new year. Only 4 more months to go! 🙂

Ummm, what flight museum is that? I guess I probably should know, huh?

At any rate, I’m glad you guys had a weekend full of family fun. My hubby’s not a football guy, and I’m glad of that!
