This weekend we bonded as a family in a few ways, including three of us running a 5K together. Yes, a family that runs together also gets king cake at the end together, at least where we live and during the Mardi Gras season… 😉 In this case it’s calories out, calories in – in that order – ha!
We also went on a quick road-trip to Houston to get in some “big city” time and a little shopping. Sometimes we make spur of the moment decisions to do things like this. And I love that about our family. Thankfully, usually everyone is game. And a special little someone already likes shopping quite a bit (perhaps she gets that from her Mom… ahem).
We are busy family with three growing kids and a fairly packed schedule in the next few months, so this weekend was really the only time we’ll have for a while to hang out, just us.
One thing that families “on the go” definitely need are snacks that are willing to “go” with them and that is one of the reasons why we really like Crispy Fruit from Crispy Green.
The taste may have something to do with it as well. 😉 Not to mention they are quite a bit healthier than some of the other snack options out there. With less than 55 calories per bag, the 100-percent freeze-dried fruit also has no additives or preservatives.
When we first tried crispy fruit the bags of mango were gone literally in a flash. Ben thought they were so good. Pretty sure I had to steal one piece out of his hand just to get a taste. The banana and pineapple packets were also emptied pretty quickly during our family “taste test”.
I have to admit, I’m not typically much of a mango fan but the crispy fruit ones are really good! My favorite flavor though is the Asian pear. I love pears and these are extremely delicious.
Freeze-dried fruit is also great to hand to kiddo in the back seat of the mini van on the way out the door to an after school activity or on the way to a Saturday soccer game.
I know you want to win a multi-pack of delicious Crispy Fruit so simply enter below. I dare you – er, I mean your kids – not to get addicted to this super tasty snack! 😉
What have you and your and your family done or where have you gone together lately?
P.S. Excited to have my first post up at What To Expect! You need to go read about me judging my Sister-in-Law after she became a mother…
*I received one box of samples of crispy fruit for review. No other compensation was received for this post and all opinions are my own.

I love veggies, but have always tried to eat more fruit. Since apple was my first word, perhaps that would be a good start.

They all three sound yummy, seriously – I’d pick apple as my potential favorite. I mean, my kids’ 🙂
We were trapped at because of the snow the latter part of last week, but I took my middle girl to our local Children’s Home to pack lunches on Saturday. It was so much fun, plus bonus – we were making a difference!

I love that you run together! How cool is that? I’m a little jealous. I haven’t run in a few weeks due to a painful heel problem.
Y’all look so good! What a great looking family!

My husband and I took our daughter to an indoor waterpark birthday party over the weekend and it was so much fun. I told my husband we’ll have to go back in a few months when our son is older and able to enjoy it as well.
