My oldest child is an old soul. He has always spoken well, since a very young age. I think he gave me a lot of trouble when he was a pre-schooler because he had so much he wanted to do and say but he couldn’t then. He was trapped in a baby boy’s body.
This kid is smart. And I’m not just bragging on him because he is my kid and this is my blog. And he’s not “smart” like just book smart. He’s also just… just… WITH IT.
I’m not sure there is any other way to describe it. He wants to hang with the adults and go to college tomorrow (not that I’m saying he could, but maybe…). And live in New York City. To which I say, “Hell no!” (But I get it, I do, because that city is awesome).
Sure, he’s still a kid but there’s just something about him that is different than most kids I know or have known.
Sometimes I want to be him when I grow up.
He helps me with the younger kids (not that they really need that much anymore, but you know what I mean).
He wears a robe that kinda looks like an old man’s smoking jacket. I would not be surprised if he walked out of his room one day pursing his lips around a pipe, while wearing that robe. 😉
So… today marks another birthday anniversary for him.
He’s 11. But sometimes I have to stop and think how old he really is.
Although it is not hard for me to remember the day he was born. It was the day I became a mother. It was a beautifully flawed day for me. His birth was not the easiest. But I would go through it all again (even the week after, which was NOT fun) because I love this kid BIG.
SO happy you were born, my Benja! Thanks for being such a wonderful son. Even if you do love the Dallas Cowboys. 😉
Current obsessions: Football (playing at school for fun, t.v. version when Cowboys are on), Minecraft, Madden video game, Maze Runner, hamburgers, cars (real and remote controlled), writing and drawing Marvel characters.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
