Last week my bloggy pal Angella contacted me about featuring one of the many sites that she contributes to, Daily Grommet. In return, they would have something for one of the lucky readers here…
But before I get to the “meat” of this post about a wonderful site that highlights new and innovative products and their inventors, let me just tell you about Angella really quick. Although it may not be really quick because seriously, I dont’ know when she sleeps.
She’s a mother of three, a great writer, a wonderful photographer and a true lover of life. I read her personal blog Dutch Blitz but she also contributes to several other sites. Not to mention she’s working outside of the home these days. Seriously Angella, when do you sleep??
Anywho, I was very excited when she contacted me about this giveaway and even more so after I discovered what Daily Grommet is all about. Here is a snippet from their site:
“Our story is really simple…because it’s not about us. It’s about finding really fresh products and telling their stories. Those products, and their creators, and the people who love them (the products, that is) are the real heroes at Daily Grommet.
And then the best part is, when we tell the story of a great product (or what we call a Grommet), people all over the world share the story, and help the Grommet get discovered, enjoyed, and dare we say, loved.”
And the best part? They are letting me give away the product they are featuring today (beginning at Noon EST). The Noonie. How cute is this little bundle??
Here are some of the features:
*I’s a peapod-shaped swaddling blanket, made by hand from the most gorgeous fabrics. What a conversation-starter!
*The Noonie™ is a beautiful keepsake item that can be passed on for generations to come.
*Outside fabric is made from 100% cotton. The lining is made with super luxuriously soft white minky.
*Two coordinating fabric buttons allow you to bundle your baby up with ease.
*The Noonie measures 30 inches (length) by 15 inches at it’s widest point.
*Not intended for unsupervised sleeping.
*Designed and created by Alessandra Gutierrez, “Lala”, mother of two very busy boys (7 and 8). When she’s not fighting off evil empires or chasing frogs out of the house, her days are spent perfecting her designs for the little ones of the world. She wanted to create keepsake items that could be passed on for generations to come. She is meticulous in her search for the perfect fabric and obsessed when it comes to softness. Lala also strongly believes it is essential to be environmentally conscious.
*Retail Value: $45
I think this would make a perfect baby gift or if you have a wee one, keep it for your own!
Here are the details for the giveaway:

Angella says
You are too sweet, Elaine. And, um, I went to bed at midnight last night…

Good luck to everyone!

I love the noonie. What a great site, browsed around for a bit. I really love the idea, I like that you can enter daily for something. It’s nice to see things I have never seen before.
Great giveaway.

Oh Elaine! It is so cute!
The idea behind this products is cute and fun but I just don’t know how usable it really is.
My kids either wanted to be swaddled really tight or wanted to be completely free. It really doesn’t look that safe and I would never leave the room for a minute if my baby was in one.
As an after the bath cuddly though….I am all over that!
It really is adorable!

OK! The Noonie is the cutest thing ever!!! Love the name as well.
Other Grommety items worth mentioning:
~The Clocky: I mean who does not want to chase their alarm clock around the room at the crack of dawn?
~The Amco Cirtus Squeezer, always handy to have for that 9am alcoholic beverage that you need after you successfully caught the Clocky
~And then of course, there is the Obama Flashbag Tote that will come in handy when I’ll crash one next week’s “Tea Parties”

ooohh…I may have to go get one of those to photograph my new nephew in when he arrives! Sooo cute! I also like those aprons for kids over there…what cool, unique stuff!
Bellamomma says
Oh! My! Stars!
Can I have the one in the pic up there? How precious is that?!?
I love the handy videos on the site ~ it’s nice to see how the products are used (for idiots like me who may forget what they are supposed to do once the item gets to my doorstep) QVC in under 5 minutes!!!
Bellamomma says
tweeted – although selfishly hoping none of my tweeps enter & beat me!! EEP!
Fine. If one of my tweeps beats me, they must share custody of Noonie. Or at least let me come over and snuggle it.
What? You know you want to too!

I loved the video feature! The one on the Noonie, how cute was baby Charlotte!! Aw. I can’t believe there is a video for all those gromments. The Egglings one was fun to see, too.
Christina says
Too much cool stuff! They really DO find cool tuff to feature. My first pick is the zip-n-go blanket, since my sister and I commented just last week that we need something like that for picnics. And I love the egglings, and the Wordlock is pretty cool too. But the Noonie seriously is too cute for words!
Midwest Mommy says
I don’t need this but darn it is so cute! My babies are too big.
Brittany says
Ok, this is adorable, must have, nom nom nom!
I went to the site and it took me a second to get my bearings. But ater hunting around, and watching all the super fab videos, I am in love, the products are FABULOUS!

I’d love to try the Barney Butter, and the Soundview Millworks cheese board – been looking for a good cheeseboard for a long time actually.
Oh – and I’m getting tired of my Tweezerman tweezers – I’m going to have to check out the Rubis Slanted Tweezer for sure.
Thanks for a chance to win – my sister is pg and due in about 3 weeks – the Noonie would be such an awesome gift for her. I’ll go leave a tweet too.
monstergirlee says
OK – I added a twitter too: http://twitter.com/monstergirlee
Thanks to Angella for directing me towards your site!

Oh I love this pea pod blanket! Seriously LOVE!!
I checked out the site, and like it, but it isn’t really user friendly to shop. I just thought that to find all the different gromments took a lot of time, and that really isn’t something I have much of right now. How about they put 5 to 7 different gromments on the first page at a time. Not send you to a different link and then have 7 different pages to go through. Too much.
But again, the pea pod thing is awesome!!
noreen says
I would suggest a small pic of that last few grommets along the bottom with a link to the post about them.

I think the Daily Grommet is going to be very popular! I love how clean the site looks. I also liked that we got a chance to actually see the product in use in the video. I watchted the Noonie and the Skyflight Mobiles videos and I really enjoyed it. I like that there is more information about the product and the maker of the product below if I am interested in reading more.
The Noonie is adorable and looks very comfortable. I had never heard of a Noonie before I saw the Grommet video and now I want one because it looks very useful and easy to use. I like that the maker of the Noonie, Alessandra Gutierrez is donating 20% of the sale of the Noonie to the rainforest in Costa Rica. That is very sweet.
