I’m leaving for BlogHer on Wednesday so I want to leave some more a kajillion photos from our trip to Canada up before I jet outta her (Get it, “jet” outta here? I know, I’m hilarious).
They don’t need a ton of explanation. You can probably tell from them that we had a wonderful time!
We headed back to West Edmonton Mall the first two days we were there and did the water park and amusement park again!
All the kids had a blast in the huge wave pool you see behind them…
At the amusement park Misty and I hung back with the little ones while Tim took the big kids around (after all, he’s one himself so…)
After ALL of that fun, we headed to the lake!
Between the s’mores and the time on the water…
…there was time for ice cream too (of course!)
Yes, that IS my husband on the tube back there (in photo below). I got on it too but I am sorry so happy to report that there is no photographic proof. It was REALLY fun though! I also rode the jet ski, the four-wheeler and jumped in the freezing cold lake, voluntarily. Go me! 😉
This is the view from the kitchen sink at the lake house out the back (or if you want, the front) and out onto the lake. How awesome to do the dishes and look up and see this, right?
As you can see (if you made it this far) this is the place of summer memories and amazing family time that I cherish. I really wish it wasn’t so far away and that we could spend even more time there… but I’ll take what I can get!
And lastly, here’s a pic of all of me and my cousin’s kiddos together. They make quite the motley crew!

The photo of the S’Mores – that chocolate!
Sent me straight to the kitchen.
And oh, your younger son right now. It’s just precious with the teeth. I’d be photographing him every second. So adorable.

That is some kind of “bubble” chocolate they had on hand, I think Cadbury makes it. I had never seen it before but I gladly ate it. 😀
And yes, the teeth seem to change every day. He lost another one a couple of days ago and the “landscape” has changed again – ha ha!

I’ve been calling this our SUMMER OF FAMILY because by the end of it, we will have spent approximately four weeks with various combinations of my in-laws and a week with my extended family.
Lots of food, fun, swimming, games with the cousins – memories my kids will never forget.
At their ages (15 and 17) their days at home with us are waning quickly and I want to make the most of every single one of them.
Your pictures here made me smile – looks like we’ve got the same ideas about what constitutes a good time!
Elaine says
I should be calling it that too! ha!
And I don’t blame you for wanting to make the most of it, the older they get the faster time goes…
Glad I could make you smile and yes, we definitely have the same idea on fun! 🙂
