Today was a better day.

We had a lazy morning and then spent some time outside in the nice, 68-degree weather this afternoon.  Playing with friends, having snacks, taking a few pictures here and there.

I made some “puppy chow” and well, chowed on it.  That stuff is good. I may or may not have eaten a few of the mint Hershey kisses that I bought at Target yesterday too.  Quite tasty.  Apparently I’m working on gaining that typical holiday 5 pounds.  I’ll keep you posted.

I figured out that I’m a tad stressed because Tim and I have only a few days before we leave for our “adult only” NYC trip and when we scheduled it I didn’t realize we’d be gone during ALL of the kids’ school Christmas parties.  It’s not like I have to be at them but everyone wants me to help by providing something and I feel bad leaving my MIL with the responsibility so of course I have to get stuff to everyone before we leave…

Plus my house looked like a tornado went through it yesterday and that always leaves me, how shall I say it…. extra edgy.

I cleaned up a bit and put laundry away and things felt better. They always do.

Plus!

Once Tim and I get back from our trip we only have ONE DAY before we leave to go see my family for Christmas.  That means I basically have to have my “ship” together THIS WEEK (and today, as most of your are reading this is Wednesday… yeah….)

AND!

My Christmas cards FINALLY got dropped off by the FedEx guy tonight so I’m over here addressing them like a mad woman.  You know JUST. ONE.MORETHING. to do… (before we go! ACK!)

Teacher gifts, stamps, mailing, gift buying, gift wrapping, peppermint bark making, etc.

So much for low-key holidays, huh?

Fa-la-la-la-LAAAAAAAAAAAH!

p.s. I’m VERY excited about our trip but I think a tad nervous about leaving my three babies at the holidays (or at all).  I’m just kinda an emotional wreck lately, have you noticed? Geez.
