…on the laundry
….on the grocery shopping
…on the dishes
…on watering my plants
…on showering (yes, myself…)
…on reading blogs
…on MY sleep!
…on Christmas shopping (haven’t even started)
…on scrapbooking
…on creating a family Christmas card
…on talking to friends/family back ‘home’
Yep, I’m behind on a lot of things right now. You might say I’m just a tad overwhelmed. I’m actually ready for the Thanksgiving break next week since our friends will be here and will sort of ‘help’ with the kids, etc. (meaning more hands to hold the baby and other kids to play with our kids).
Of course we are NOT behind on love and hugs and smiles and the boys new favorite game is when I make the baby “talk” by moving her chin up and down (kinda like the baby on the Etrade ads). The B Man thinks it’s hilarious and well, I do too. And it kinda makes me forget how terribly BEHIND I am, so that’s good. I think.
So, what are you behind on? Can you think of just one thing to make me feel a tiny bit better about my ever lengthening to-do list? Pretty Please?

I’m not behind so much as anxious for the future. I’m running around here like a mad woman trying to get ahead so I won’t be so far behind 🙂

I think I’m with you on every. single. one. Though I did finally order our Christmas Cards last night (check!) – ughhh. I feel you. I do.

Let’s just cut and paste your list. And I don’t have a newborn to excuse my lack of progress. You’ll get stuff done when you get it done. Don’t worry.

I am behind on life! Sounds like the things you are doing are far more important that laundry and Christmas cards!
And we need a video of the baby talking, you can’t tease us like that and not show us!

I am sooo behind of cleaning my tub…it is disgusting! Stopping at the dollar store on the way home to get some cheap throw away brushes.
I wish I had such wonderful reasons for falling behind…I just have been avoiding it!

I DON’T have a brand new baby, but I am still behind on:
working out
showering
laundry
holiday card (haven’t even started thinking about it)
thanksgiving (have no idea what i’m making besides turkey, had high hopes of trying new/different stuff this year)
showering
spending time w/ my hubs. feel like we’re two ships passing in the night these days. ugh.
so you are not alone! and i have no excuse—you, however, have plenty of them and you need to go easy on yourself!

I’m behind on life. But, I’ll catch up. Eventually. 🙂 It’s the hugs and loves a kisses that are the most important. 🙂
Wendy@RuensOnTheRun says
My list would be just as long, and I don’t have a newborn baby! I better add Christmas card to my ‘to-do’ list so it can move to my ‘behind’ list…Ugh, haven’t even thought about it.
Brittany says
Yep- in the same boat! But all we can do is breathe… right? As women we feel like we can take on the world, and do it all… but alas, we cannot. And sometimes we just need to accept that. So you’re doing FANTASTIC- and you’ll catch up eventually…and then you can give me advice when I have Chloe, and tell me how to do it all! 😉
Mommy Mo says
I’m behind on ALL of those things, PLUS some more.
Hey, at least you don’t have to do drop-off and pick-ups at four different schools in one week and take your daughter to ballet once a week, all while your husbands works in another country for three weeks : ).
I am so behind on my life that it’s not even funny.
I’m going to get some more coffee!

I need to vacuum, mop, declutter, and I can’t do any of it right now because I’m sick.
I feel your pain lady. 🙂

Not even started on Christmas…behind on baby announcements, behind on thank you notes, haven’t cooked a real meal in about a month…yep.
Skip, Stephanie, Emerald, Calvin, and Zachary says
Ummmmmmm………..feel your pain!! For sure!!! I can add to the list (quite the list I might add) that I’m behind in taking care of my health by working out (not to look good, just to live long enough to run with my kids in the park). I can also add to the list that, sadly, I’m behind in working with Zachary on his physical therapy. Is that just too sad to admit? They gave me so many excercises to do with him and I’m supposed to squeeze that amidst my crazy day, too?! PS, it’s a secret, don’t tell anyone!

Oh Elaine, behind is the name of this mommy game. I am behind on laundry, grocery shopping, scrapbooking, Christmas shopping (haven’t started either), and on showering. However, my kids are well loved, fed, bathed, and played with/read to everyday. What could be more important than that? You are doing a great job! Keep it up! 🙂

Oh um I have a long list too… one annoying thing would be laundry. I missed a day last week and have since not been able to catch up.

I’m behind on:
Desp Housewives (3 epidsodes)
Laundry
Forgot to take my bath tonite. Yay. Now I have to take it at 11:30 lol!
Sleep
Blog Reading
Christmas shopping/decorating
Two reviews I need to do…
That’s all I can think of lol! I know there’s a lot more than that, though!
Lauranie says
This list is VERY familiar!! But yet, I still chucked it all and went to lunch today!!! Yay me!! And the few things I was planning on doing while out and about….got SMASHED when we passed by the fountain I was telling you about and both my children decided to RUN THROUGH IT!!! Can you just see me driving through Lafayette with two NAKED children!!! So smile, you are doing great!! 😀
Reluctant Housewife says
Yeah… but most of that stuff isn’t all that important. Try not to worry about things like laundry & dishes & even (gasp!) reading blogs… they’re not going anywhere. It’s okay to just enjoy your baby.
PS: I’m behind on everything, too. School is taking up way more time than I thought it was going to. I’m supposed to crochet hats and scarves for everyone for Christmas… There’s only about a month left to get them all done. Ahhhh! 🙂
