Baking Queen

November 27, 2008 by Elaine

I felt like my mom yesterday. I baked and then I did a little baking and then well, I baked some more… I even popped a casserole in the oven for good measure. See, that’s pretty much what she does on the day before Thanksgiving – she cooks A LOT.

I wore my apron (gosh, I SO need a pic of me sportin’ my apron!) and please let’s all pretend like I had my’50’s style dress on with heels, mkay? Here I am…

Oh wait, that can’t be me. Her shirt is totally ironed and I haven’t ironed anything since like 2002 or so…

Yeah, no. I was adorned in my “mom-stume” – jeans and a 3/4 length polo-style shirt and my running shoes. Running around the kitchen… baking.

My MIL and BIL were nice enough to come help out with the kids while I played Betty Crocker or Martha, take your pick. Anyway, here’s the dessert triumvirate in all its glory. Yes, the fruits of my labor.

I am SO ready to dig in. Do we really have to eat the other stuff before this?
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! : )

Yum–we’ll be there 6 ish–after the game of course 😉

We spent yesterday baking too–although I gave the chocolate cake duty entirely to MIley (the girl who hates to focus on apparently anything) and well let’s just say I am happy I made a pumpkin pie and I have a real love for my stuffing and cranberries!

    Happy Thanksgiving!

Looks yummy! Could you donate one to a non-baker? I like to cook, but I don’t bake much.

I’m totally impressed, because there is no way on God’s green earth I could make any of those. Can you believe we didn’t even have dessert today?

Oh yeah – I’m right there with you with the ironing! It would be so much cheaper to iron rather than picking up the balled up shirt and tossing it into my non energy efficent dryer. Oh well.. who the hell has time to iron anyway? LOL

Your pies looked mouth watering! YUM.. Hope you had a fantastic thanksgiving with your family.

Mmmm, they all look so good. I’ve totally had more than my fair share of pie the last two days and yet? I wouldn’t pass up a slice of any of those. Especially the cheesecake.

and ironing just plain doensn’t happen around these parts

Why didn’t you take the cheesecake out of the springform? I like my cheesecakes naked!
