When I look back on photos of me pregnant I smile. But then I grimace a little too.
I really liked being pregnant all three times. Except towards the END.
No, I was not a fan of the terrible “morning” sickness I had with B and my “Wall-E” feet that I had with K. And let’s not talk about the sciatica with G. Oh man.
BUT.
I thought it was SO COOL to be growing a human being and also by the sixth month or so to have a shelf in which to rest my food.
My first pregnancy was during the third for my cousin Misty*. We met up at Christmas time that year and took this photo:
Her oldest daughter and Ben are about 3 weeks apart.
I was also in a wedding (of my good friend Jennifer) at the end of January and B was born April 2nd. I’m here to tell you RIGHT NOW pregnancy pantyhose DO NOT stay up. Just FYI.
This photo was taken in the morning before I left for the hospital to birth B. I see two things written all over my face in this shot:
“I’m never going to sleep well again, am I?”
and
“GET THIS HUMAN BEING OUT OF ME!”
I don’t have a ton of “bump” pics with G for some reason. I think it’s partly because I was still working while I was pregnant with him and well, life was just BUSY.
Here’s one from that Christmas with me and my mom. I LOVED that sweater.
And of course there are a TON of pics of me pregnant with K. Too many, probably.
This is a favorite though.
This was taken like about 2 weeks before she was born.
And this one has amazing memories attached to it. It was taken as we left our house in Texas, a few days before we moved to Louisiana. It was K’s last day in the Texas house. I am smiling but I wasn’t that happy, honestly.
Also, people must REALLY like this post, My Last Preggo Post, because it is THE most viewed post on my blog. NO LIE. And it has a bunch of bump pics and a bonus pic of my aforementioned “Wall-E” feet. You’re welcome.
So, did you like being pregnant? Do you like being pregnant right now, if you are?

*Misty has since had 4 more babies for a total of 7. We are off to see her and her family at the end of this week. That makes for a total of 10 kids. And we are calling this vacation…? hmm…
I love the picture from your pregnancy with K with B in it. Seriously it’s adorable. I don’t have many bump pics, I just was not a fan of pregnancy.
Thanks! And I hear ya. There were definitely moments I could do without. ha!
It’s weird since it’s been a year and a week (but who’s counting, really) since I’ve been pregnant I do find myself getting a bit weepy when I see pregnancies and newborns. My baby turned one so it’s only natural! I went through it with my daughter too but when she turned two, well, that’s when trouble started. Hence my kids being about 3 years apart.
I enjoyed my first pregnancy more. The second was harder all around – maybe because I was older (although not by that much) or maybe because I had my daughter to take care of too. And I was moving while nauseous. Ugh.
I think it is definitely harder when you already have one running around. And moving at the same time, ugh! And I hear you about age three, I’m ready to say goodbye to three’s for good soon!
I love this post! I liked the growing people thing too–thought it was very cool. I’m also incredibly glad not to be pregnant again this year. Funny how that works.
I bet you are! LOL!
Ha, we ask the same question at the end of our posts
I enjoyed being pregnant, most of the time. I also have a comparing the bellies shot.
Such a cute post!
Exactly – most of the time! ha!
I love that photo of you and your son while you were pregnant! How awesomely cute.
Thanks, my friend!
You’re such a pretty preggo. My favorite is your son showing his “bump” too!
I know, isn’t that fun? He cracks me up…
And thank you!!
So cute! I love these posts.
Aww. I love these photos. I love seeing baby bumps. I will always miss being pregnant. I’m one of those weird women who loved every second of it. It will always be the one thing I wish I could do again. I’ll always miss that feeling.
I think I’ll have to link up with this. I have some pretty funny bump pics.
Great post!
Yes, please link up! I want to see… and yeah I think about how I’ll never do it again sometimes when I see another pregnant woman. It really is such an amazing thing…
Love those pix.
And gotta say, not a fan of being pregnant (this or either of the two other times), but am crazy in love with the results!
Oh yes, the results are super awesome!!
You can tell you loved being pregnant- you have such a beautiful smile in all of the pics!
I didn’t love it, but didn’t hate it, either. Except at the end. The end was miserable!
Yeah, the end really sucked, I agree. I always slept horrible toward the end. UGH.
I LOVE your pictures! You were so cute! And your tummy! I would have NEVER shown mah bare tummers. Yours is so pretty. I did love being pregnant even though it was so damn hard.
OH well, thanks! I think it’s huge but well, it was! ha ha!
I really dislike being pregnant. I just don’t carry it well at all, and I can’t stand being debilitated. Also there’s the whole dangerous high blood pressure game that I get to play each time. Never again!
Also you are an adorable pregnant lady.
Thanks, girl!
I liked being pregnant too… well my first pregnancy, my second halfway through I got a major hernia, my third had it practically the whole time.. but other than that they were great
Oh no, a hernia does NOT sound fun! Thank goodness the end result is so worth it, right?
You were a beautiful preggo! Love all of the bump pics! I took very few pics my first pregnancy and regretted it, so I made sure to do monthly pics the 2nd time around, regardless of how crappy I thought I looked. Glad I did!
I’m glad you changed your ways!
I’m sorry there are not more of me with my second, so I hear you.
You look so happy in all your bump photos! I love them all! My favorite part was the kicking and the prodding and the rolling. It was just such an amazing feeling. But I’m pretty happy no one is rolling around in there right now – ha!
Thanks! And yes, I can still remember where I was when I first felt that first kick from B! But yeah, I hear you on that last part!! ha!
Bumps are beautiful!! Love all your pics.
Thank you Tonya!!
Your favorite picture is mine too!! You’re adorable.
And oh my, 10 kids, have fun! xo
I’m not sure “fun” is the right word… ;-P
Thanks!
I love your pictures – especially your favorite one. It’s awesome! And can I say I can’t believe you were heading off to have a baby in that one picture? You were so little!!
It’s funny you say that about that photo where I was leaving because I look at it and think the same thing. I think maybe it’s the angle??? Because I felt enormous!!
Those are wonderful pictures! The one with your son is precious.
Once I got through the first few months, I enjoyed being pregnant. It really is an amzaing experience.
I agree! On all counts!
Wonderful pics! I am enjoying motherhood so much more than the steps getting there… Pregnancy was full of false alarm scares and constant questioning of if I was doing the right thing- too much exercise or too little? Is she moving enough or too much? Etc etc etc
You have the best pictures! All of my pregnancy pictures with my third were at or in front of our house in Georgia for the most part- the one I knew I would be leaving shortly after he was born, so I sympathize.
Great great pics!
I love being pregnant! … okay. I love the second trimester of pregnancy. That’s about it. But I did love watching my body transform and grow a human being. Seriously. That is the best part about bump pics, I think. If nothing else, it is pictorial evidence of how rockin’ our bodies are.
Yes, the second trimester is certainly the sweet spot!
Time has really gone by for me since I was pregnant (11 years now) – but I do remember it as such a special time. Yes, uncomfortable near the end, but such an amazing thing to experience! You look great in your pics – suit pregnancy very well!
Thank you so much!
You and your cousin look so much alike…I thought for a minute you had placed side by sides of yourself!
That last part is the worst….yep. My sister is almost there and I keep telling her it’s worth it.
Have a great time with all of the kiddos. With so many of them, I bet they play hard and sleep well!
You’re right, we do look quite a bit alike in that photo. I never noticed it before!
And I hope you’re right about the kids while on vacation!
You are the cutest. And you moved while pregnant? I was crabby enough while moving, if I had added pregnancy hormones into the mix my family would have disowned me.
