1. They wake you up in the middle of the night (to pee). Thankfully there are no soaked-through diapers but still, I’m AWAKE now.

Pretty much impossible to resist that face, even if they do pee in the house…
2. You talk “baby talk” to them. “Oh, hey wittle man, you are SO cute and I wove you so much! You have de softest erahs eva!” (okay, maybe not the ear part for babies…)

He gives awesome puppy kisses!
3. You and your husband talk about the “baby’s schedule”, including sleeping, eating and pooping. And yes, pretty much in that order.
4. You take lots of pictures and try to get the little one to pay attention to you and most of the photos you have to delete because the “baby” is moving and or not looking at the camera.

“Seriously Woman, quit taking my picture!”
5. You take many trips to the “baby” store (in this case Pet’s Mart) for toys and other necessities for the “baby”. You wonder why you did not register and have a “baby” shower…

My first baby with the current “baby”.
Despite some of the challenges, having a puppy is pretty great, just like having a real baby! We are so happy to welcome Lord Oliver Pomegranate Wensleydale, a.k.a. “Ollie” into our family. Just what my Miss Elaine-ous Life needed, a sweet, “wittle” doggie.
P.S. Old School Blogging is back this week and I would love if some of you would participate! Email me at misselaineous0375@gmail.com if you want the questions before-hand!
I couldn’t get a decent photo of our puppy for weeks! She was always moving. Now she stays still better than my kids.
Photographer’s dog and all. Eventually they learn!

Totally! We have a toddler dog now and she’s so cute, but still a lot of work.
Your new puppy is adorable. I love the pictures!

That is a really cute puppy. I do not envy the whole potty training however.

Oh my gosh, I love his name! And man, is he cute.
I didn’t have a baby at the time we had our puppy, but looking back it’s totally the same. Love this!

Oh my aching! He is so precious! I have always loved Cavaliers and just recently started looking around here for rescues just in case one would come available in our area. However, I don’t think I could get another dog while we have Molly. She is the most needy, jealous dog EVER and she’d probably throw herself off of a cliff if we brought another dog home.
Congratulations on your new baby!!!
