I am so very happy to say goodbye to 37 so I just thought I would go ahead and glorify this birthday with the number in the title. I really do NOT like odd numbers for whatever reason and this year has had some ups but some pretty (weighty) downs too. So Hey, 38, LET’S DO THIS!
I have always loved my birthday. It is in Spring and things are blooming and the weather is warming up and Cadbury Eggs are in the stores. See, perfect time for a birthday!
For this one I am going to Trader Joe’s and out to dinner with some wonderful girlfriends here in Texas.
Unfortunately Tim did go back to Louisiana to work but we celebrated together already and I’ll see him again this weekend. Plus, I am hanging with my good friends who own a cupcake shop and those are just the right size for not too many candles that might burn the house down, ya know?
Instead of reflecting on the last year (no thanks) I am going to look forward to this one and set a few goals for myself.
Are you ready?
I am!
* Lose back 10-15 pounds. I cannot run as much as I used to, my ankle is just not up for it. But I can still run some and I can do other exercise as well. Plus, I MUST go back to eating a better diet and I WILL.
* Spend less time on the internet and more with my family.
* Work on some personal issues that need to be addressed.
* Get my writing published somewhere else on the internet. For pay.
* Travel out of the country with the family (we are planning a trip to Canada).
* Step it up with my photography and my photography business.
* Read more books, rather than internet.
*STRESS LESS.
Tall order, huh? I am already giving myself permission to maybe let a couple of these slide but NOT the most important ones at the top there. I also think it is still good to write them all down and come back to this post for reminders, and I will.
So, welcome 38! I am really looking forward to making this a fabulous even-numbered year!
Oh and as a birthday gift, please come “Like” my blog Facebook page and tell all your friends to do so too!
xoxo
I like your goals Elaine! Happy birthday!!!!
I don’t think it’s too tall of an order! I think you will rock this list, mama! Yes you will <3
Happy birthday, my friend!!
gorgeous! happy happy birthday! 38 looks so good on you
Love this year’s goals. I need to follow suit on some of them–ahem–read more books, less internet. Oh yes, that’s me. Cheers to a good year ahead of you
You are just gorgeous. And you don’t look a day over 30! I’m SO happy to have met and spent time with you, Elaine! It was a highlight for me of the trip, for sure. And I think I’ll adopt the “stress less” goal, too. Happy birthday tomorrow, and I hope you get to celebrate like you deserve!!
That photo of you is perfect, you gorgeous girl!
Love your goals, especially the Canada part
Happy happy 38! It was a good year for me, may it be wonderful for you.
Happy Birthday! Coming to Canada?!?!? Where? When? I hope if you come to Ontario that we can meet up!
Happy Birthday Miss.
You look mahhhvelous.
And I think that list is totally attainable. Tell your asshole ankle to get in shape.
WOW…HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEAUTIFUL!!!!
may this year be just as sweet as you are, just as amazning as you are!! May all your candle wishes come true and may you always know how LOVED you are.
XOXOXO
Happy Birthday, my friend. You are so amazing. I wish you the best year yet and hope that you reach each one of your goals.
I love your goals for year 38. Happy Birthday!!!
Happy birthday! I hope you have a super great, fantastic day!
Happy Birthday! I just turned 38 a few weeks ago (as you know) and, I gotta say, it hit me harder than 37. I think it’s the number 38 – it just looks frumpy, you know? Like it should be wearing mom jeans.
Or maybe I’m just really neurotic.
Happy Birthday! Where are you going in Canada?
Happy Birthday, sweet Elaine!
I have a strange dislike for odd numbers too, and I’m 37 this year, ugh. Can’t believe I actually want to be 38 soon
I love your picture, so gorgeous!!
Happy Birthday!! I had no idea you were 37. You look awesome. I turn 28 this year. Have a great time this week!
Happy Birthday, beautiful friend!
Happy Birthday! They all sound like really good goals for the coming year, good luck to you! And enjoy those birthday cupcakes.
Happy birthday, you’re officially “liked.” What kind of writing do you want to get published? (I’m assuming it’s blog-like, but then again maybe you write futuristic dystopian science fiction, what do I know?)
Happy birthday! These are great goals. I have some photography friends who I’m sure would be willing to talk business with you if you ever need it.
Happy Birthday! It was so nice meeting you at Blissdom. I enjoyed hearing about your experiences at all the blog conferences. I had a really good time at Blissdom and I’m so glad I went! I look forward to reading your blog and checking out your photography!
HAPPIEST birthday to you! Also, I could have SWORN you were so much younger than me! You look amazing and I love that photo of you. Cheers to this new year!
Steph
I know I’m late but still… HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I’d say based on your goals, you’re definitely headed in the right direction. Take from a 42 year old. I think it took me a little longer to figure it out
Happy (belated) Birthday! It was great to meet you at Blissdom this weekend over dinner. After checking out your blog, I realized we have so much more in common. Wine, running, writing, photography and the fact that you live in Louisiana! Although I have been in TX for 10 years, I lived in Lafayette for six years after college. My husband’s family is in Crowley, so we go back several times a year. Hope you are enjoying your week in TX and looking forward to keeping in touch.
You can do it!!!
And I already like your FB page.
Happy Belated Birthday sweet friend. xoxo
Happy belated birthday, Elaine! Those goals are very reachable. I believe in you. And I can’t wait to get to meet you soon!
I think 38 looks good on ya!
And I don’t like odd numbers either. Not sure why. Hmm…
Those are some great goals. I may just have to copy and paste them for myself.
So glad you had a wonderful birthday!
Love your list! I hope you had an amazing birthday! xo
