Name That Kindergartener

March 11, 2013 by Elaine

Update: We have our winners!

Congratulations to Amy Pike, the grand prize winner of a $300 Amazon gift card!  Runners up were Renee and Julie!  Thanks to everyone who played along – we hope you had fun!

So, did you guess me right?  It was pretty easy.  Same “squinty” eyes as always. 😉

And here is the “key” to all of the other answers.  I even had some wrong at first, so wow, this was kind of hard!

I’ll be honest, I do not remember Kindergarten very well anymore.  I do remember my teacher was Mrs. Allen  (thanks to my yearbook) and that I kept my really cute alphabet workbooks for a long, LONG time until my mother made me toss them when I was leaving for college.  Apparently I was extremely proud of my work.

I also recall the half-moon table where we had headphones and listened to “phonics” and the other half-moon table where I spent A LOT of time learning to spell my last name (geez, it was not THAT hard).  And I remember this one little girl always wanted to sit next to me at lunch because we happen to have the same Holly Hobby lunch box and thermos and she seemed to think that meant we were soul sisters or something.

And I have always remembered my school picture from Kindergarten.  I quite liked it for a long time and then I was embarrassed for a while and now I am back to liking it again.  And that is all I can say about that because now you have to guess which one I am from the awesome collage below! (I think it’s pretty easy…)

Plus, if you guess all the other bloggers you get a chance for a pretty spectacular prize!  It’s really too bad I know all the answers already.  I could absolutely use the Amazon cash (new camera lens anyone?)!!

So, it’s very simple – just match the picture (with the assigned alphabet) to the blogger whose blog is listed below. What’s in it for you? Other than some fun (and it’s fun, promise), you can win an awesome $300 Amazon gift card. You can also get to know some of the bloggers listed here, if you don’t already. You can have a laugh at our expenses. Don’t worry, we did. Now, go forth and play!

Enter your answers on THIS FORM.

I think it’s a great picture! And I’m glad there’s another person who doesn’t remember a lot. I don’t think I even have a kindergarten year book, and I certainly can’t remember my teacher’s name.

Glad to have your smiling face as part of this!

Ha! I immediately thought of a camera lens too! Too bad we know the answers.

I loved Holly Hobby, but my lunchbox was California Raisins. Weird, right? I know.

A new camera lens would be fab! I remember my teacher’s name (but not how to spell it) and what she looked like. I loved her so much. She is still one of my all time favorite teachers.

I could spot you but I think it is tough to get them all. I think I am pretty easy too. And yep, I have been eyeing a new lens! Love that you had such a great Kindergarten experience!

So fun! I have no idea about most of those bloggers, so I’m not playing. But I do see you!

I remember have to stay in for recess one time as punishment in kindergarten, and my friends taught me how to tie my shoes. Must have been great for my teacher’s ego. 😉

I found you pretty easily! it’s an adorable pic! I still have a lot of my school stuff too. tucked away in bins in our basement. yeah, they actually moved with me in to my married life! crazy. why do I have all that stuff again? and phonics! I remember working on that!

I’m torn between two of the pictures, but I think I know which one you are. I think it’s a good sign to be proud of your work, even at that young age. I think I created so fast, was a prostitute for praise and was then on to the next thing without a backwards glance. 😉

Oh man I didn’t get the invite for this? *Throws self on floor and kicks in a tantrum* You all just missed out on a kindergarten mullet/mushroom top photo.

I didn’t look at the answers because I wanted to see if I could figure them all out on my own. You know I can’t, right?

Those half moon tables! Why were those popular, anyway?? And I LOVE your picture. It might be my favorite. 🙂

I now want to know what your last name was as a kid. My three year old, Cameron, has our last name down pat (but not his middle names). He knows that in our family is Cameron O’Rourke, Gavin O’Rourke, Mommy O’Rourke, and Daddy O’Rourke. (<– I think that’s pretty cute).
