I can’t begin to tell you all how crappy this Valentine’s Day was.
And I mean that in more ways than one.
BUT. Since I want y’all to come back and visit here, I’m going to refrain from well, going there.
The cookies I planned to bake for the kids never got baked and I spent the day in bed, recuperating and watching things like “An Affair to Remember” while the man who loves me took care of the kids and fielded work phone calls.
I did manage to stomach a pb&j sandwich and a few chocolates at the end of the day so I guess all is not lost.
By the way, did you know that there is a show on one of the many satellite channels called “My Dog Ate What?”
Really?!?! I mean ,what is THAT about? Who produces this crap? More importantly, WHO watches it? (I’m sorry but if you do, you need to change the channel, like NOW because your brain cells are quickly DYING).
Anyway, my Valentine gave me a beautiful card today with words written by him that mean the world to me. And we plan to go to lunch tomorrow, just the two of us, to make up for today’s pathetic-ness.
The B Man made me a card this morning before he left for school. It was so sweet and had hearts and said “get well, Mommy”. Frankly, I missed my kids today because I hardly saw them and at the end of the day I came into the kitchen and my Katie Kay says, “Hi Mommeee!” with a huge smile on her face. Be still my heart.
So, maybe this day of love was not so “perfect” but there were still little moments that reminded me how truly loved I am and how much I love this beautiful family of mine.
P.S. Please go visit Dumb Mom and check out this awesome post “Love Is…” in which me and several other bloggers are featured, telling you what we think LOVE is.

That stinks! My hubby got food poisoning on Friday night, so I’m right there with you on a few crappy days. 😉 I hope you are feeling better and can enjoy your day today!

How is that I miss my kids more when I’m quarantined in the bedroom ill than when I’m at work? I don’t know, but I do. Glad you are on the mend.

Oh no – how rotten to be sick on Valentine’s day. What a sweet hubby you have to stay home and take care of you and the kids. I hope you both had a lovely lovely lunch today and you are feeling a million times better.

Sorry you were sick. My husband worked until 10 pm but I am so grateful to now be out of the flower business (used to own a flower shop in San Francisco) especially on Valentine’s Day – which also happens to be my birthday – that the day could get pretty crappy before it upsets me! I used to work from 2 am to 10 pm! Not at all fun. Although I did manage to get a guy to spend $35 on a sprig of baby’s breath! It was all I had left, he was desperate and I managed to tie a nice ribbon around it. Hope lunch was good the next day.
