Love is all around as they say.
Obviously we know I love my husband and children and all of my family for that matter.
But there are certain things that make a house a “home.” Things that just “speak” to us and make our hearts soar.
Here are a few of mine…
I bought this “sweetheart” chair at an estate sale a few years ago. The gentleman selling it had recently lost his wife and was clearing out their home and moving on. Every time I look at it I think of him saying that “she loved that chair” and the love they shared together. And I love seeing the hearts in the back of this great piece that I paid too little for…
Baby K’s “somewhat of a mish-mash, with touches of modern and traditional” nursery is based on this rug that I found at IKEA. We play in her room a lot lately because it makes me very happy. I do love it and I think she does too.
Because I love my family I make them homemade muffins with cream cheese and big, juicy blueberries. Oh and I kind of like them myself too.
This lamp used to be in Tim’s Grandparents’ home but after they moved from their house and to a retirement community we were able to bring it into our home. I love it and also adore the fact that it makes me think of them often. They are wonderful people.
Share the love too… join in with You Capture at Beth’s place.
The story that goes along with the chair is so sweet!
And that rug is awesome.
Lovely pictures.
I love the story of that chair and the picture of Baby K is so sweet – what a lovely, colourful baby friendly room. I’m sure she does love it. Plus, she matches her rug! What girl wouldn’t love that?
Those muffun look delicious!
And that lamp is super-cool. I have a lamp that I love that belonged to my great-grandmother. It’s packed away right now because it needs to be re-wired. I keep meaning to look into how to do it and try my hand at it… I should do that soon.
Fun post!
I would love some of those muffins right about now.
Can you love me too and make some of the fantabulous-looking muffins?
Great shots! I think, from reading the previous comments, that everyone wants to come over and have one of those muffins. haha. They look really good!
I love the story behind the chair, how incredibly sweet. And K’s rug is awesome, I would play on it too!
What a fun post!
And Ps what happened to your weekly weigh in post – it’s showing up in my reader but not here. I just wanted to tell you to keep up the hard work…it will pay off. Don’t get discouraged!
You captured the blueberries perfectly. I want them… now!
I love your blueberry muffins too.. Great capturing!!
I love the nursery! Great, bright colors.
And the muffins? Num.
Great captures! Your little girl’s nursery is beautiful. Awesome rug!
Oh, yum, blueberry muffins!
oh what a sweet story about the chair…to have that kind of piece is priceless!
And again with those muffins….oh the goodness!
Nom nom nom I would LOVE one of those muffins
ummmmm homemade muffins are the BEST!
NO wonder you love those items, simply adorable!
I love your post and it’s inspired me to look around and see what i love in my house…
One thing I do not love? Sleep training!!! Ugh!
Elaine–I suck because I make blueberry muffins out of a box (though I do put in real/fresh blueberries when I have them on hand)…I would really love your muffin recipe if you have time to share it. My gals love muffins and I would like to try to make real ones. We also love cream cheese…
I love the rug and the chair, too. Your photos are incredible, as always. Baby K looks right at home in her room!
I love getting little glimpses into your home. How fun! Love the story of the chair too.
I think that it is great that you recognize the value of the memory in that chair even though most of that memory isn’t from your own experience!
I’m sorry…did you say something other than muffins;P
I love all your loves! Can you share the muffin recipe?
I like the bright colors in baby K’s room!
I love seeing everyone’s photos this week…it’s like taking a little peek inside their home and seeing what kinds of things they enjoy. It’s a great way to get to know people.
I love all your photos! Especially that adorable baby on that adorable rug!
I love the chair picture and the story behind it.
Lots of love to be found in your home – but I already knew that!!
I was at Ikea a couple weeks ago and fell in love with that very rug! I can picture it in N’s one-day room.
P.S. You might need to post that recipe. Just sayin!
Love this post! I love that Ikea rug – so cute.
Love the photo and story about the sweetheart chair. Very touching. =)
Great photos! I love the story of the chair and that lamp is fantastic!
I really enjoyed your lovely pictures. The first (of your chair) is my favorite. My mom and I always say “Love is where you find it – look for it.” We have this little back and forth thing where we try to find hearts in everyday objects to take picture of and send to one another. This one would be perfect! So glad to have found your blog after hearing sweet things about you from some of the ladies at Cupcake 10!
Mmmmm. Love your yummy pictures. I like the muffins, maybe I’m hungry
